Festival of Arts, Sciences and Letters arrives at the SMA

The Festival of Arts, Sciences and Letters will arrive on 28, 29 April and 1 May as a cultural event

San Miguel de Allende.- UNAM has joined forces with the Optical Research Center and the municipal government to organize the first post-pandemic cultural festival. It will be held on April 28th, 29th and May 1st.

It concerns Festival of Arts, Sciences and Letters who returns in person with the motto ¡Viva la vida! as a celebration and thanks for meeting again after the pandemic.

It is carried out by the León Unit of the National School of Higher Studies of the UNAM through the Extension Unit of San Miguel de Alende.

The Festival of Arts, Sciences and Letters aims to generate an artistic, scientific and humanistic offer in the municipality. It will be aimed at the entire population; All activities are free.

This year it will be based in the San Miguel de Allende Extension Unit of the ENES Leon Unit, UNAM.

The program of the Festival of Arts, Sciences and Letters includes artistic activities, conferences and workshops on science and art.

Among the artistic activities, the presentation of the children’s show “The head of a dragon” on Sunday 1 May at 13:00 at the Ángela Peralta theater stands out.

In a stellar fashion, concert artist Juan Manuel Alcántara will perform at 5pm in the same venue, both events are free, with one ticket; This can be requested in the branch unit, in Calle Mesones or in the theater offices.

The event will be part of the photographic exhibition ‘4th World Cup of University Photography 2021-2022’, at the ‘El Nigromante’ Cultural Center, which will be inaugurated on April 29 at 11:00.

Arturo Joel Padilla Córdova, coordinator of Continuing Education Extension San Miguel de Allende, said that the festival was born in 2016 to bring together the arts and sciences but with strategic alliances. By having the Optics Research Center this year they were able to bring seminars such as creating their own telescope, which will be held on April 29 at the house of culture.
