UMAG carries out research projects in areas such as Antarctica science, energy and health

Important research projects with a high regional, national and international impact are carried out by the University of Magallanes (UMAG), some with several years of execution and others, more recent, with a projection of up to 10 years.

This is the case with the Implementation of the Cape Horn International Center CHIC, fence subantarctic located in Port Williams, which is already built. This scientific pole will also host the research worka educational project which will take place from year 2023through technical careers which will be taught in the center.
