Through a solemn assembly, in recent days, Dr. Jaime Alfredo Mariano Torres, director of the Chemistry, Exact Sciences and Technologies area at the Universidad del Noreste, was sworn in as a new member of the Association of Petroleum Engineers of Mexico AC
This act was led by the President of the Tampico delegation, Ing. Alfonso Amieva Zamora, who read the doctor’s career and protested.
Immediately afterwards, Dr. Mariano read the code of ethics and closed his participation underlining the importance and permanence of oil as a source of energy and as a raw material for the plastics we use every day.
He said UNE Petroleum Engineer has a group of international certifications that make him highly competitive and open doors for him in companies in Mexico and anywhere in the world.
The MCI PhD student participated in this same meeting. Roxana López Dinorín, who presented the theme “Applied electrochemistry for soil remediation” to the members of the Delegation and received recognition from the Mtro. Gustavo A. Martínez Pontvianne, Director of the Study Commission; both professors of the Petroleum Engineering career at the Universidad del Noreste.
The UNE community extends its congratulations to Dr. Jaime Mariano on his appointment and we hope that his participation in this Association will have a great impact on the students and graduates of the Petroleum Engineering career.
